Alberto's Restaurant was established in 1978 by the Herrera family. who is Alberto? Alberto Herrera was the father of Charlie Herrera. He passed away in May of 1998 at the young age of 97.
The restaurant has been predominately operated by family since 1978. If they weren't in thefamily, they've been here so long, they're like family! You have seen daughters, cousins, nieces and nephews smiling and ready to serve you. Though many employees have come and gone, one thing has remained consistent, the quality and goodness of the food.
After 20 years in the business, The Herrera's decided to take a much deserved break and pass over the reins. In January 1999, Avenicio "Rey" Rodriguez purchased Alberto's Restaurant. Rey is the nephew of the Herrera's, So you can be assured the quality of the food will stay Delicious. Rey not only has much enthusiasm and lots of energy to offer to you, our customers; he also brings with him several years of experience in the food service business, as he was part owner of a restaurant and bar in Omaha, Nebraska. UPDATE: In February 2007, after 28 years in the same building, Alberto's found a new home at 2322 Lake Avenue. The location has been owned for over 40 years by Rey's grandparents, as a bar. Lots of labor went into the preparation of the new building to make it into a restaurant. We hope you enjoy your experience here in our new location as we continue to serve the customers we love.
